In order to perpetuate and encourage the growth of Dalcroze education in Taiwan, the DST followed the Teacher Training Program of Longy School of Music, Boston, directed by Lisa Parker, and designed the following program for the practical training of future Dalcroze teachers.
15 workshop-hours held by IJD (Institut Jaques-Dalcroze) Diploma Dalcroze teachers.
The plan, as stated above, was established in 1999 and was designed in accordance with Lisa Parker’s curriculum for the Dalcroze Teachers Training Center at the Longy School of Music, Boston. There were over two hundred students in the Taipei, Taichung and Hsinchu programs, with one-hundred-thirty-nine students passing the preliminary level, forty-eight students passing the intermediate level and twenty-eight passing the advanced level; nine are now taking the practical teachers training level; as of 2010 only two had passed the practical teachers training level.
After completion of this curriculum, five DST members (intern-teachers) were successfully accepted to attend the graduate school of Master of Music in Eurhythmics on Longy School of Music. All of these five teachers received the Longy Merit Scholarship. Among them, I-Hua Chan Chien received the Dalcroze Certificate with Distinction in the summer of 2007, and Yu-Hsun Cho received the Dalcroze Certificate with Distinction in the summer of 2008, Zhi-Han Liu received the Dalcroze Certificate with Distinction in the summer of 2009, Tzu-Chun Lin received the Dalcroze Certificate with Distinction in the summer of 2010 from Longy School.
